Barring any unforeseen events, I expect to have my letter to test from the New York State board this May 2008. My plan to pass the Architectural Registration Exam (ARE) is to start studying for 6 weeks, take my first exam on Monday, June 2nd and another exam every 5th week on a Monday. That schedule will allow me to take every exam before the end of the year. I will be taking the eight exam ARE 4.0.
I am working, while I study. I am going to study an hour a weekday and three hours each Saturday and Sunday. On the weekend before the exam, I’ll study all day.
The study material I’ll be using are Kaplan’s Pre-Design and Construction Documents books, the appropriate Site planning vignette from Kaplan and NCARB’s ARE 3.1 software.
