It turns out my friend who is doing the 3.1 exam is not trying to stuff in eight exams before December 31st. What he has done is concentrate on the two graphics exams Site Planning and Building Technology. The latter exam influences 4 other exams, so this sounds like a good last minute strategy.
He has taken one of those two and is trying to do the other before December 31st. I think he’s got a good strategy. If he makes it before December 30th, he’ll get a second opportunity to cover these graphic exams. True, he’ll only get one chance for the other multiple choice exams, but he will have covered himself partially.

a54 – tell your friend that the LAST DAY he can schedule an exam and still have time for at least one retake before the transition is DECEMBER 30. If he schedules it for the 31st, he’s SOL.
