Unavailable at the Moment

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

The AREforum is down again. Kind of looks like a maintenance issue. Down isn’t the best term. Honestly, I have no idea why the forum is “unavailable at the moment”. “We’ll be back soon,” is good enough assurance for me. Of course if your exam is tomorrow, it may not be so good for you!

Studying for structures, I decided to post less. I didn’t want any excuses like, ”I should have used those two hours writing a post to study structures.” So I’m not posting (or posting less) until after my structures exam. I’m supposed to be keeping my post ideas, but even those I’m afraid to hold on to or write down. As if they might take up valuable brain memory that could hold a structures formula or concept or something!

So like the AREforum, I am unavailable at the moment! In the mean time check out the latest PPI Promotion Code for Ballast, look through old posts and good luck with your architectural registration exams.

Sick

Monday, May 17th, 2010

Turns out I have to do a medical procedure over the next four days. They’re not cutting me open. I’m basically being monitored, but it is better to be out of the office to do the procedure. I will be able to study for the structures portion of the architectural registration exam all day long for a few days this week, while on medical leave! I really plan on taking advantage of this time.

What did you think I was going to say? I’m sick of the AREforum being down? Well I am. (Thank goodness it’s back online and appears to be operating through to each forum.) The AREforum is a huge deal. When it goes down it gives us a chance to realize how much of a resource it is.

Database Problem

Friday, May 14th, 2010

Looks like the AREforum is down with a database problem. I see a page that says “Database error” when I click thru to any of the sub-forums like Structural Systems or Schematic Design. It is always rough when the forum has a problem.

You can’t access posts from the AREforum archive here “http://www.areforum.org/forums/archive/index.php” either. (Updated.)

It is hard to replace the collective efforts on the forum. In the mean time here is an AREforum Alternatives post from awhile back. If you have any updates or knowledge of what’s going on, what you’re seeing, or when the problem will be resolved and the AREforum back online please leave a comment.
