Looks like the AREforum is down with a database problem. I see a page that says “Database error” when I click thru to any of the sub-forums like Structural Systems or Schematic Design. It is always rough when the forum has a problem.
You can’t access posts from the AREforum archive here “http://www.areforum.org/forums/archive/index.php” either. (Updated.)
It is hard to replace the collective efforts on the forum. In the mean time here is an AREforum Alternatives post from awhile back. If you have any updates or knowledge of what’s going on, what you’re seeing, or when the problem will be resolved and the AREforum back online please leave a comment.

Arg!! Of course I’m testing on Monday and saved most of my vignette practice till the end! I’m seeing the same error. Super frustrating.
A suggestion is to post on Facebook if anyone could help look over your vignette. Maybe someone there can help? Make sure to mention which vignette!
So, is there any idea of when it’ll be back up and running? I’m dying for some responses on vignette attempts. Are there any alternate forums that function similar to AREFORUM.org? I didn’t realize how much I relied on this thing till it’s down. Why is it down?
I don’t have any idea of when the AREforum will be back online. I also don’t know specifically why it is down, beyond the error message. The other AREforum Alternatives may or may not have the same posting options as the AREforum. That I’m not sure about. But what they are missing is the large number of viewers and subscribers that participate on the AREforum. That makes all the difference.
